Ferrine Set for Visit to Notre Dame

New Jersey corner prospect Leo Ferrine recently received a visit from Tyrone Willingham and set his official visit to Notre Dame. Where do the Irish stand with Ferrine?

Leo Ferrine recently had an in-home visit with Tyrone Willingham. "That went pretty good," said Ferrine. "We didn't talk a lot about footbell. We talked about being a man, being a confident person, and being a leader on the field. We really didn't talk much about football."

Ferrine says he wasn't surprised by the conversation. "I wasn't surprised because it was coming from Coach Willingham. We can talk about football any time. My family liked him before the visit, now they are even more impressed with him."

Ferrine has two visits left and he says they are his top two teams. "I have Penn State this weekend and Notre Dame on the 23rd. Notre Dame brought my official offer on the visit. They are my top two team. I never would've though that I'd be deciding between these two schools. You have a Hall of Fame coach in Coach Paterno and a future Hall of Fame coach in Coach Willingham."

We asked Ferrine if the distance would bother him if he chose Notre Dame. "Not at all. I have family in Chicago, and it's not that far away."

Ferrine says a decision should come shortly after his visit to Notre Dame. "I will try to make my decision shortly after my visits. I don't want to drag this out. I won't be holding out until signing day or anything like that."

Comments: This will be a classic Notre Dame/Penn State battle. Penn State has their chance to impress this weekend. Ferrine says he'll take his visit to Notre Dame. We think it's a pretty close race right now, but his family is impressed with Coach Willingham. We'll know more after his visit to Notre Dame.
