Wolke Talks About Commitment

Tennessee quarterback David Wolke commited to the Irish today. The 6-3, 205-pound quarterback became the 10th known commitment to Notre Dame. Why did he choose Notre Dame?

David Wolke had been waiting for his offer. "They had been recruited me for a while," said Wolke. "I kind of knew I wanted to go there, but I wasn't sure if they would offer me. I just thought that if I wanted to be a really good football player, I could accomplish that at Notre Dame."

His dream came true today. "Coach Diedrick had an in-home visit today. We talked for about 45 minutes. He looked at me and said 'well, I can tell you that you have a full ride to Notre Dame.'

Wolke says he didn't have to think about his decision. "I knew that I wanted to go there. When it was there, I jumped on it."

So was it a dream come true? "You could say that. I have goals in life, I'd say I accomplished one of them today."

Wolke said his family is very proud of what he's accomplished. "They were very excited. My parents were so proud of me. My brother was very excited for me."

Will his family be traveling to South Bend this weekend? "You bet, my parents and my brother are all coming. We're all excited about this. I'm glad I waited."
