Monroeville, PA Corner is Hot Prospect

Monroeville, PA is home to Justin King. The 6-0, 180-pound athlete plays both corner and running back in high school. He has eleven offers so far. Will the Irish be in the race?

Justin King had a solid junior season. "I rushed for 1,800 yards and 31 touchdowns," said King. I also had 30 tackles, three interceptions and three forced fumbles. I think I'll probably play on defense in college."

King is said to have blazing speed and a lot of schools have taken notice. "I have offers from Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Pitt. I have a few more, I have 11 total." Are all those in writing? "Yes."

The summer will likely be busy for King. "I'm going to the Nike camp. I'll hit a couple of other one-day camps. I really don't know where yet. I'll stop by some schools this summer on some unofficial visits. I still need to plan that yet."

King said he grew up cheering for Penn State. We asked him if he had some favorites? "Yeah, Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan and Iowa. I'm pretty open though. It's early in the process. I plan on taking all five of my visits. I was going to commit early, but a couple of guys around here committed early to Pitt last year and changed their minds. They took a lot of heat for that so I want to be sure when I make my decision."

We asked King what about Notre Dame interested him? "It's Notre Dame, I just like them. I like their tradition and they have a good football program. I'll probably visit there sometime this summer."

As for academics, King says he has a 2.9 in his core and has yet to take the test.

Comments: I'm not sure if the Irish have officially offered, maybe they have conditionally. I do believe they are very interested as is everyone. I've heard he is a great player. He seems pretty interested in Notre Dame. We'll keep an eye on him and see if he visits. Top Stories
