D.C. Receiver Has Couple of Offers

Wide receiver James McDonald already has a couple of offers. The 6-3, 190-pound Washington D.C. native is receiving plenty of interest from some of the top programs in the country. Is he interested in Notre Dame?

James McDonald had a pretty impressive junior season. "I had 30 catches for about 500 yards and nine touchdowns," McDonald said.

A few offers have already come for McDonald. "I have offers from Penn State and Syracuse right now. Virginia, Maryland, Pittsburgh and UCLA are sending me the most mail right now."

The Irish have not been in contact with McDonald yet. "I haven't heard from them at all. I would be interested very much if they started to recruit me."

McDonald also plays to attend a few camps this summer. "I know I'll be going to camps at Maryland and Penn State. I'm not sure on any others at this point. We'll wait and see."

He's also set academically. "I have a 3.5 in my core. I scored a 970 on my S.A.T.."

McDonald says he might make an early decision. "I plan on ending it early. I will still take a few visits though. I just want to fit in with the school I attend. I'll check out where the school is now and where they are headed in the future. I don't have to stay that close to home, but I don't think I'll go across the country to go to school. Wisconsin would probably be as far as I'd consider."

Does McDonald have some top schools? "Maryland, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Virginia, North Carolina State and UCLA in no particular order."

Comments: The Irish haven't thrown their hat into the ring yet. I assume they will with his academic record. We'll keep and eye on him and see if the Irish start recruiting him.
