Oppurtunity Of A Lifetime

Is it possible that some recruits commit to a school because of the tradition, education and what a University stands for? That's seems the case with most of this years Fighting Irish recruits.

ATH Jake Carney 6-0 180 4.4 Lexington, KY (Catholic)

Lexington's Jake Carney is a super athlete that can play several positions at the next level. Carney committed to Notre Dame early in the recruiting process and he's drawn favorable comparison's too current Domer, Chris Yura.

We caught up with Jake Carney to find out how his season is going and also to chat about his recruitment.

"We're 11-0 right now." Carney said. "I've only been thrown on about 12 times this year. I have 30 tackles, eight pass break-ups, three interceptions and I did return one kick for a touchdown.

I've played safety and corner most of the season."

Has Carney thought about the struggles of his future coaches and teammates?

"I think about it a lot to tell you the truth. Notre Dame is a great educational and athletic opportunity.

I hope that they (Notre Dame) keep the coaches that have recruited me but if there's a coaching change and the new staff still wants me, I don't see a reason why I would want to go anywhere else but Notre Dame.

Purdue and West Virginia are still calling me. Michigan came down to check me out not to long ago."

Carney was an all district and all city selection.
