Mike Brown has had to share the ball at St. Peters Prep, but that hasn't stopped him from making things happen in his limited carries. "We had three division one running backs here," Brown said. "I had 58 carries I think, 1,050 yards and 18 touchdowns."
The 5-10, 180-pound running back also has blazing speed. "I just ran a 4.27 yesterday at a local combine."
Plenty of schools have already shown interest. "Syracuse, Rutgers, Boston College, Michigan State, Maryland and Notre Dame have offered me. I've heard Virginia will offer me soon. A lot of schools are writing me--Florida, Michigan, Indiana."
The Irish and coach Tyrone Willingham have already made an early impression. "I got to meet coach Willingham when he was recruiting Leo Ferrine. I'm very interested in Notre Dame. Coach Willingham talked to me and my Dad for a while. He's very intellectual. We talked about life and my future more than we talked about football."
Brown says he doesn't plan to go to any summer camps this summer. "I might go to a Nike Camp out on the West coast. Maybe the Stanford one. I don't think I'll go to any team camps. I went to Penn State last year."
Brown is also a solid student and plans to take his time with his decision. "I have an 82 percent so I assume that is around a 3.0 in my core. I haven't taken the test yet. I plan to take all my visits before deciding. Location won't be important to me. I'll look at the tradition of the school, the coaches and the players. I'm really open to anyone right now. I don't really have any leader."
Comments: Expect the Irish to recruit Brown very heavily. He appears to have a strong interest in Notre Dame. He also appears pretty set on taking his visits so I doubt he makes a decision any time soon. He could be a top 100 player when all is said and done.
