New Jersey Wide Receiver Receiving Early Interest

Catholic high school in Paterson, NJ has sent plenty of players packing with division one scholarships. Wide Receiver Kitt Pommells will be another in line to sign a division one scholarship next February. The 6-1, 195-pound Pommells says he's wide open to anyone at this point.

Kitt Pommells couldn't remember his stats for us. "I really don't have them," Pommell said. "My coach would have them."

Pommells is receiving a lot of interest from schools at this point. "Maryland, Syracuse, Indiana, Michigan, Texas Tech, West Virginia, Virginia and Colorado are a few that have been sending me mail."

What about the Irish? "No, I have heard anything from them yet. I'd be very interested. They have a good education. I like all the top teams they play against."

Pommells says he doesn't have many summer plans as of yet. "I don't know if I'll attend any camps yet. I think I'll go to the Nike camp."

Don't expect a decision from Kitt anytime soon. "I plan to take all my visits. I want to see what schools interest me the most and then go visit them. I don't think I'll go too far from home. I think the coaches will be important to me. I want to find a coach that wants to win as bad as I do because I hate losing."

It's early in the process for Pommells but he did give us an indication of a few early leaders. "I'm pretty open to anyone right now. Virginia, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Colorado, schools like that interst me the most."

Comments: Pommells comes from the same high school as former Irish player Lorenzo Crawford. Pommells says he has around a B average and hasn't taken his test yet. Expect the Irish to take a strong look at Pommells provided he can qualify. Top Stories
