Jean-Pierre Hoping to Hear More From the Irish

Bergen Catholic high school in Oradell, NJ has produced a number of divison one prospects over the year. Another in the long line will be running back/safety prospect Wolfver Jean-Pierre. The 6-2, 195-pound Jean-Pierre is receiving interest from a number of schools. Do the Irish have a shot at Jean-Pierre?

Wolfver Jean-Pierre had a solid junior season. "I had 211 carries, for 1,500 yards and 22 touchdowns," said Jean-Pierre. "I also had 17 catches for 329 yards and 3 touchdowns. I also had 28 tackles and 4 interceptions on defense. I'll probably end up on defense or at wide receiver in college."

Jean-Pierre says he still waiting for his first offer at this point. "A lot of schools have been writing me, but I don't have any offers yet. Maryland, Virginia, Michigan State, Iowa, Rutgers and Boston College send me the most mail so far."

Have the Irish been in contact with Jean-Pierre? "Yeah, they've sent me a few things. Nothing on a consistent basis though."

Wolfver is hoping to hear more from Notre Dame. "I've always liked Notre Dame. They've been my team forever. I hope I hear more from them. "

The New Jersey native says he'll be hitting a few camps this summer. "So far I'm going to Maryland's camp. I'm going to look at a few others and try to make it. I'll probably hit the Boston College camp. I'm also going to the Nike camp at Penn State."

Wolfver says he'd like to find the school of his choice early. "I'd love to make an early decision. That will depend on who offers. Location won't be a factor. I just want to find the right school--where I fit in well. Academics will be important."

Comments: Jean-Pierre also said he has a 3.5 in his core and will take the test on the 27th. He says he's open to anyone who wants to recruit him. We'll keep an eye on him and see if the Irish start recruiting him.
