Georgia Defense End Has Host of Suitors

Fort Valley, GA is home to defensive end Larry Cox. The 6-6, 250-pound Cox is hearing from schools across the country. Is Cox interested in Notre Dame?

At 6-6, 250 pounds and the ability to run the 40 in 4.7, Larry Cox has found himself receiving a lot of mail. "I don't remember my stats from last year," said Cox. "I've been getting mail from schools like Auburn, ASU, Tennessee, Maryland, Notre Dame, Memphis, Wake Forest, Georgia, Marshall, Alabama and Duke."

The Irish appear pretty interested in Cox. "They send me a lot of stuff. A lot of handwritten stuff. Maryland and Georgia also send me a lot of mail."

Is Cox interested in Notre Dame? "Yeah, it's a good school academically. You can get a real good education there. They have a good program there."

Cox hasn't hit the junior day circuit, but he does plan to make a few camps this summer. "I'll be going to the Nike camp. I also think I'll go to camp at Tennessee. I also might attend camps at Duke and Alabama."

The Georgia native says he doesn't plan to make an early decision. "I plan to take some visits. I'm not sure I'll take all five though. Education will be important. Also, the coaching staff will be important to me. I wouldn't mind staying home, but I don't think I will. I'll definitely look at schools out of state."

Does Cox have some leaders at this point? "I'd say Georgia, Maryland, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Auburn, Michigan, Alabama, North Carolina, Florida, Michigan and Arizona State. Those would be the schools I'm looking at the most right now."

Comments: Cox told me he had a 2.8 in his core and has yet to take the test. He seemed pretty open at this point. He has yet to receive an offer, but don't expect that to last long. He should be one of the top players in the Georgia this year. Top Stories
