"I'm hearing from a lot of schools" said Jackson. "I'm hearing from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, LSU, Notre Dame, Kansas State, Texas A&M, and a few other schools."
Jackson finished his junior season with 30 tackles, four interceptions, and 3 pass break ups. "Teams don't throw the ball to my side of the field" Jackson said. "The interceptions I got came from my safety deflecting passes over the middle. I don't really get a chance to get interceptions because teams won't throw to my side."
Though it's still extremely early in the recruiting process, Jackson named his early top five. "In no particular order, my top five is Miami, Florida State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Kansas State."
Has Notre Dame been recruiting him hard? "I've heard quite a bit from Notre Dame. I get a lot of mail from them. I haven't talked to anyone yet, but they send me lots of stuff."
Although Jackson does not plan on making a decision until some time into his senior season, he does know what he's looking for in a school. "I want to go to a school with a good academic reputation. I also want to get a chance playing time as a freshmen. I play offense for my school so hopefully I can get a chance to play a little bit of offense in college too."
Jackson will have a busy summer. He plans to attend the Nike camp in College Station, and then go to a few team camps. He has a 4.2 GPA and is waiting for his ACT test scores.
Comments: Jackson seems to have mild interest in Notre Dame right now. It seems he's really enjoying the recruiting process, but most kids do this time of year. CB is a need position for the Irish this recruiting campaign so it's no surprise the Irish have been showing Jackson a lot of attention. We'll should know much more after May Evaluation. Irisheyes will keep you posted.
