Christopher Vaughn recently visited an Irish spring practice to get a look at the future. Vaughn said he was excited about what he saw. "I had a great time," said Vaugh. "I went to a lot of meetings. I sat in on the wide receiver meetings. I had a meeting with Coach Miles and we talked about the offense. I also watched the team practice."
So how did the Irish look? "They looked real good. Everyone was practicing real hard. Everything looked real organized. The offense looked to be moving the ball well."
Vaughn also spent some time with Coach Miles. "There's a lot of new concepts, but nothing I can't grasp. He told me to try to get up here as much as I can. I'm actually coming back on Thursday for the spring game. He told me to study the playbook and learn the plays."
The Connecticut native also got to spend some time with his future quarterback. "I had a real good time with him. They worked both he and I out after practice for fun. We hooked up easily. Our timing was real good for never having thrown to each other. That was a lot of fun."
Vaughn says he plans to be in South Bend often between now and August. "I'm going to be up there in June for sure to work out. I might just stay the entire time to work out. I can't wait to get going. I want to start working out with Brady Quinn and see how I stack up with the rest of the wide receivers.
The recent word we've heard is Vaughn was quite impressive when he worked out. More than a few people were very impressed with what he can do.
