Brown is Versatile

After a successful season of playing offensive tackle, Charles Brown, the 6'6 240lb athlete from Pomona CA (Diamond Ranch HS) will be making a switch to TE and DE to help his team. College coaches are starting to take notice of Mr. Brown as he is getting more and more attention. Is Notre Dame among his suitors?

Moving from offensive tackle to tight end is a move that Charles Brown wants to make. "I think I did okay last year. I could've done better. But I want to catch the ball. I really want to play tight end."

Apparently, many colleges feel that may be a good move for Brown. "I'm being recruited by USC, UCLA, Notre Dame, BYU and Utah right now" said Brown. "I have an offer from USC and I'm getting alot of handwritten mail."

Is USC his favorite? "Yes, since they offered, USC is my favorite right now. I still like the other schools, but USC is my favorite."

How much attention has Notre Dame shown in Brown? "I get a lot of handwritten mail from [Notre Dame]. They send me a lot of stuff. I like them alot. I would visit if they offered.

Even though Brown is being recruited mainly by West Coast schools right now, he says distance will not be a factor in his decision. "Distance won't be a factor at all. I am looking at the coaching staffs. I want to play for good coaches so I can get better. I am also looking at the schools sports medicine programs since that's what I want to go into."

Look for Brown to make a decision sometime before his senior season. He plans to camp at both UCLA and USC this summer. He currently boasts a 2.8 GPA and is scheduled to take the SAT on May 1st.

Comments: Brown is a quiet kid who does all his talking on the field. USC is the team to beat right now. Notre Dame could get into the race with an offer. That could happen after he gets his SAT results back. It's still early in the recruiting process so don't count Notre Dame out yet.
