Raphael Eubanks has impressed a number of schools so far. "Minnesota, Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Kansas State, Northwestern, Arizona State, Maryland and Stanford have all offered me, said the 6-3, 290-pound Eubanks. "A lot of other schools are recruiting me as well."
Notre Dame also appears to be hot on his trail. "Notre Dame sends me mail constantly. Coach Mattison writes me all the time. He tried to call me already but I wasn't home to talk to him. He said he'd call back soon. I'm definitely interested in Notre Dame."
A few other schools have called Eubanks as well. "I talked to Coach Hubbard from Wisconsin. I know the Georgetown head coach called but I wasn't home. I've missed a couple of calls."
Eubanks has also been to a few college campuses recently. "I went to junior days at Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa."
Summer plans have not been set yet by Eubanks. "I don't know where I plan to camp. I know Notre Dame would be one stop if I decide to attend camps. I'm still trying to figure that out."
Eubanks says he doesn't plan to make an early decision. "I'm thinking I'd like to take all my official visits and get a better feel for all the schools. The academics are very important to me and my family so I'll look at that. The coaches, the program, just seeing how I fit in there, and how a program develops it's players will also be important to me."
We asked Eubanks if he knows Ryan Harris well. "I know him. I go to play with him a little bit. He's a great player and a great person."
We also asked Eubanks if he likes to read these recruiting sites and message boards. "Oh yeah, I like to see what's going on. I browse them all. I'll go check out the sites of the teams recruiting me. I'll check out the big sites, the whole thing is really exciting.
Comments: Eubanks sounds like a carbon-copy of Ryan Harris. He's a very well-spoken individual, but we've come to expect that from Cretin Derham students. The Irish have a shot at Eubanks as he seems pretty interested. We also believe they'll have to offer fairly soon to stay in the race.
