California Prospect Has Three Offers

IrishEyes recently caught up with DE/TE prospect Charles Brown to get an update on his recruiting. So far this May, Brown has been visited by coaches from Oklahoma, Washington, USC and Oregon, among others. Have the Irish stayed in contact? Is he still interested in Notre Dame?

Since we last spoke with Charles Brown, the versatile prospect has added offers from Oregon and Arizona to go alongside an offer from defending co-national champion USC.

Has he been receiving phone calls from any schools thus far? "Yeah, I've been getting calls from Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon and USC. I've called the coaches from USC, Oregon and Arizona also."

What, if anything has he heard from the Irish? "I've received a few letters from them. Other than that, I haven't heard too much from them lately."

Did the letters he received mention anything about whether or not any coaches from Notre Dame would be stopping by his high school, or whether or not an offer may be on the horizon? "No, they didn't mention anything about coming out here, sending an offer, or anything like that."

Is he still interested in Notre Dame? "Yes sir. I'm very interested in Notre Dame. I have family up there, so that helps."

As far as summer camps are concerned, Brown plans to attend camps at USC and UCLA.

Does he have any favorites at the moment? "My top five right now would be USC, Oregon, UCLA, Notre Dame and BYU.

Brown just received his SAT scores this week and learned that he scored a 930. He has a 2.8 overall GPA and a 2.5 GPA in his core.

Comments: Brown seems to be genuinely interested in Notre Dame. It's still very early in the process, but the Irish don't seem to be recruiting very hard at the moment. With an offer in hand from USC, it would seem the Trojans are in the driver's seat to land Brown's services. Top Stories
