Dewitty Has First Offer

Colorado Springs, Colo. is the home of running back Shaun Dewitty. The 6-2, 190 pounder is starting to draw interest from around the country. Is Notre Dame one of those schools? Is he interested in the Irish? We found out.

Shaun Dewitty had a solid junior season for Doherty high school last season, rushing for 1,438 yards and 20 touchdowns. Factor in his 4.4 speed and it's easy to see why schools have taken notice.

Dewitty already has an offer on the table, "Colorado has already offered," said Dewitty. "UCLA has said that there real close, too."

What other schools are recruiting him? "Kansas State, Iowa State, Colorado State, Missouri, California and Notre Dame are all recruiting me."

Does Dewitty have any interest in Notre Dame? "Yes, I'm interested in Notre Dame. After all, they're Notre Dame." Has Notre Dame said anything about an offer? "No, not yet."

Dewitty plans on having an active summer, "I'm going to camps at Kansas State, UCLA, and Arizona State this summer."

Don't expect him to make a decision any time soon, "I'm probably going to take all five visits before I decide on a school," said Dewitty.

"The school I decide on will have to have a good business and athletic program," said Dewitty. "Distance won't be a problem."

Does he have any favorites right now? "No, I don't have any favorites. I'm pretty open at this point." What about his parents? "No, they don't have any favorites either."

Dewitty has a self reported 2.85 GPA and scored an 18 on the ACT.

Comments: It might be hard to pull Dewitty out of Big 12 country, especially considering that Notre Dame hasn't offered yet. If they do, then Dewitty's interest might pick up. Until then, we'll keep an eye on the developments and let you know if anything changes. Top Stories
