Kahlil Bell Is Gaining More Attention

Kentfield, Calif. in Marin County is home to Kahlil Bell, a 6-0, 210 lbs. running back prospect that is garnering a lot of interests from schools around the nation. With a busy summer schedule ahead of him, Irish Eyes talked with Kahlil to see what is in store for rising star.

Although he doesn't have any offers as of yet, Kahlil Bell is hearing from a lot of college programs across the country. "I'm hearing from Notre Dame, of course, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, Northwestern, UCLA, Utah, Utah State, New Mexico, and Oklahoma," Kahlil said.

With all the attention, Kahlil plans to keep the summer simple, close to home, and focused. "I'm training everyday," he said. "I'm just getting ready for next year. I'm going to Cal's one- day camp this weekend and I'll be visiting Oregon and Oregon State with some friends in late June or early July."

And his favorites at this moment? "Notre Dame, of course," he said. "I've always been a fan since I was growing up. Ohio State, of course. I grew up being a fan of them also. CAL and Oregon State."

With his obvious interest in Notre Dame, has he heard from them at all? "Yeah, I get a lot of handwritten letters from Notre Dame," he said. "And my dad has talked to Coach McDonnell."

With the increasing attention, Kahlil will be in no hurry to decide on where he'll end up. "I'd like to decide in the middle or after football season," he confessed. "It really all depends on who offers me first. It'll show me who really wants me and believes in my abilities."

Comments: Kahlil was a very friendly and personable young man. Notre Dame and Kahlil both have interests in each other. Best thing for Notre Dame fans is that distance won't be a factor. He actually prefers to leave the west coast. But for the time being Kahlil has a lot of work to do also. Aside from his football commitment with team, Kahlil will also be taking preparatory classes this summer at CAL in preparation for retaking his SATs. Irish Eyes will keep in touch with Kahlil to keep everyone updated on his progress.
