Cox Up to 10 Offers

Fort Valley, Georgia defensive end Larry Cox has offers pouring in from all over the country. When Irish Eyes last talked to the 6-6, 250 pound defensive end, he had some interest in the Irish. Is he still interested? Has Notre Dame offered? Irish Eyes found out.

When we last caught up to Larry Cox, the Peach County high school star was receiving a lot of mail and attention. Coaches from around the country must have liked what they saw, as Cox has a host of offers.

"I've received offers from a lot of the top teams in the country," said Cox. "Some of the teams that have offered are Maryland, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Clemson, Auburn, Kansas State, Kentucky, and Marshall."

Has Cox received an offer from Notre Dame? "No, I haven't received an offer from them. I haven't heard from them in awhile," said Cox.

We asked Cox if he was still interested in the Irish. "I'm not too sure. I don't know too much about them," Cox said.

With all those offers to choose from, don't expect an early decision from Cox, "I plan on taking all five visits before I make a decision," said Cox.

Will Cox be going to any camps this summer? "I'm going to Auburn's camp this Saturday," Cox said. "I'm also going to some team camps this summer, but I don't know which ones yet."

Does Cox have a top five? "As a matter of fact I do," said Cox. "Maryland, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida, and Clemson are my top five."

Cox has a self reported 2.8 GPA and plans to take the SAT later this month.

Comments: It looks like Notre Dame has dropped out of the running for Cox's services. He was getting a lot of interest from them earlier in the year, but has not heard from them lately. With the teams that have offered him, it's anyone's guess as to why the Irish have stopped recruiting him. We'll let you know if anything changes.
