Brown a Top Prospect

Jersey City, N.J. is home to one of the nation's best running backs. 5-9, 180-pound Mike Brown has well over 20 offers already and has his sites on narrowing down his list. Will the Irish make the list? What are Brown's summer plans?

When you rush for 980 yards on only 70 carries and 15 touchdowns, people are going to notice. When you run a 4.27, people will notice, and plenty of schools have been noticing Mike Brown.

"My two latest offers are Tennessee and South Carolina," said Brown who holds well over 20 offers already. "I'm trying to narrow the list down."

The plan for Brown is to take some unofficial visits this summer to start to narrow down his list. "I went to Maryland last week," said Brown. "I'm going to Virginia this week. I also plan to visit Michigan, Michigan State and Notre Dame this summer."

Does Brown have any favorites at this point? "I plan to have it down to eight in a couple of weeks," he said.

Brown said he's looking for a place he can feel comfortable. "I'm looking for a place that's competitive both on and off the field," said Brown. "Feeling comfortable with the coaching staff will also be important."

Brown also gets it done in the classroom with a 3.3 core g.p.a. He recently took his test and is waiting for the results.

Comments: Brown plans to narrow his list down to eight real soon. He said he'll likely stop by Notre Dame this summer which is a good sign for Irish fans. We should know real soon how interested Brown is in Notre Dame.
