Ohio Receiver Has Some Impressive Offers

Canton, Ohio is home to wide receiver Brian Hartline. The 6-2, 180-pound Hartline recently ran a 4.44 at a local combine and many schools are interested in the Glenoak high school star. Hartline can play a number of positions making him even more valuable. Are the Irish interested in Hartline? Does he have an interest in Notre Dame? Where will he be camping this summer?

Brian Hartline played a number of positions as a junior. "I played some quarterback, running back, wide receiver--I played a little bit of corner and safety, I think I'm starting at corner this year," said Hartline. "I also was the punt and kick returner, and I also punted for our team."

Hartline says he isn't sure what his stats were for the season. "I think I had 41 catches for 550 yards," said Hartline. "I really don't know the rest. I think I threw for four touchdowns at quarterback."

While he can play a number of positions, most schools like what he does with the ball in his hands. "Most schools like me as a wide receiver," Hartline said. "Some are mentioned defensive back, safety."

Plenty of schools are interested in this jack of all trades. "Pittsburgh, Michigan State, Stanford, Vanderbilt and Iowa have offered me," said Hartline. "Iowa just offered me. A bunch of other schools are recruiting."

Notre Dame is one school that is recruiting Hartline. "They are recruiting me," said Hartline of Notre Dame. "I went doen there for a junior day. Coach Denbrock and I keep in touch. He told me that my film was awesome, they just want to see me hands on now."

Is Hartline interested in Notre Dame? "Oh yeah," he said. "It helps that my Mom loves the academics there at Notre Dame. I need to get over there for camp. I know they have a great traditon and their program is going nowhere but up. I just need to see more of the school."

Hartline says he'll have a busy summer attending camps with his brother Michael. Michael is a junior-to-be quarterback that will be very highly recruited next season.

"I know were going to LSU on June 22nd for camp," said Hartline. "Then we're going to kind make a run through the local schools. Michigan, Michgan State, Purdue, Notre Dame. We might go to Penn State."

Hartline isn't sure when he plans to make a decision. "I thought I wanted to make an early decision, but now I'm not sure what I'll do," Hartline said. "It will depend on who offers and if I feel comfortable. I'm looking for a happy medium between academics and football. I'll look at the depth chart and see if I have the opportunity to play early. I'm also looking for a place with good chemistry and good people. I'll also look at who they bring in, like if they've brought in a good quarterback."

Does Hartline have any top schools at this point? "Not really," he said. "I'll probably stay close to home unless it's a school like Stanford. I'm just waiting to see who comes after me. The schools that want me the most will have a good shot."

Comments: Hartline appears to be another Notre Dame camper that the staff will get a good look at. He's a great kid and would fit in well at Notre Dame. We'll follow up after camp and see what his thought are on Notre Dame.
