Grimes Set For Irish Camp

Detroit, Michigan is home to wide receiver David Grimes. The 5-10, 170-pound Grimes has already grabbed four offers so far this summer. He'll be attending a few summer camps in hope of grabbing a few more. Grimes plans to attend Notre Dame's camp. We caught up with Grimes to find out more about this future slot receiver.

David Grimes isn't the biggest guy at 5-10, 170-pounds, but he's blessed with 4.48 speed and the ability to change direction.

A number of schools have seen enough of Grimes to officially offer him a scholarship. "Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana and North Carolina have offered me," said Grimes. "A bunch of schools are recruiting me. Purdue, Florida, Notre Dame, Colorado, those are some of them."

The Irish have been recruiting Grimes. "I'm going to camp there on the 29th," said Grimes. "It will be just one day. I've been keeping in touch with coach Denbrock."

Grimes said he isn't in any hurry to make a decision. "I'll probably decide sometime after my season," he said. "I'm focusing more on my final year.

"Education will be the most important factor. I'll then look at how I fit in and the coaching staff there," said Grimes of what he'll be looking for in a school."

Grimes is also a solid student with a 4.0 g.p.a. and is waiting the results of his test.

Comments: Grimes has a brother Carl that plays for Michigan State, but the Spartans haven't been actively recruiting. The Irish do appear interested in Grimes, and recruiting him pretty heavily. We'll check back with him after he attends camp and see if the Irish offer.
