Kellen Moriarty has logged his first two, of likley many, official offers. "UNLV and Washington have offered me," said Moriarty.
The Goleta, California native has already attended the Texas camp and came away impressed. "They have great facilities there and the coaching staff was easy to get along with," said Moriarty of his Texas camp experience. "I ran the second fastest 40 time there and the coaches seemed real interested. They don't have a lot of scholarships so they want to wait a bit before offering me."
Next on the docket is USC. "I think I'm going to USC camp next. That's the 28th and 29th," said Moriarty. "I'm not sure if I'm going to Notre Dame. That's a long flight out there."
The Irish remain interested in Moriarty, however. "I get letters from them all the time. Coach Diedrick came out here and watched me throw. He told me that if they are taking two quarterbacks, he wanted me as the second guy. If they are taking one, they'd recruit me as a wide receiver. I realize there's a good chance I could switch to wide receiver. I liked playing wide receiver when I was out at Texas. I'd still like to get a shot at quarterback."
We asked Kellen when he planned to make a decision. "That all depends," Moriarty said. "I'll wait and see who offers me. If I get the right offers, I could decide before the season."
Comments: Kellen seems to be pretty open at this point. I wouldn't say he's leaning to any one school at this point. He's visited Notre Dame a number of times so he's familiar with the school. As of now, it doesn't sound as if he's planning to attend Notre Dame, although he said he was unsure at this time.
