McDonald Up to 10 Offers

Washington D.C. wide receiver prospect James McDonald is currently holding 10 official offers. The 6-2, 185-pound McDonald has become a national recruit with offers coming from across the country. The Irish have thrown their hat in the ring with an official scholarship offer recently. Does McDonald have any interest in Notre Dame?

James McDonald has seen his stock take off this spring and summer. "I have 10 offers already," said McDonald. "Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Utah, U. Conn, Kansas, UCLA and Boston College have offered me. I can't remember the other two right now."

McDonald says he's been hitting the camp circuit recently. "I just attended the Maryland camp and I'll be going to UCLA on Sunday," said McDonald. "That will be about it. I really don't have anything else planned for visits."

The Irish just recently offered, and the offer came somewhat of a surprise to McDonald. "It came Fed Ex," said McDonald of the Irish offer. "It was a very pleasant surprise. I knew they had interest in me, but I didn't know they had that much interest in me. I was very excited about the offer. I really have a lot of interest in Notre Dame. I just tried to call coach Diedrick but wasn't able to reach him. I'll try to call him again soon."

McDonald says he likely won't make an early decision. "I think I want to take all my visits," he said. "I won't get to see them all this summer, so I'll want to see them before deciding."

We asked James what college coaches have been telling him they like about his game. "They say they like my ball skills," said McDonald. "They like my quickness and say I have strong hands. They think I have good body control and have big play ability."

Does McDonald have any favorites? "I'd say Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Boston College and UCLA."

Comments: The Irish appear to be in good shape with McDonald. He seemed very excited about his offer from Notre Dame. We'll be waiting a while before we find out where he'll be signing, however.
