Henry to Attend Notre Dame Camp

Erie, Pa. running back Mario Henry is out on the camp ciruit trying to earn some early offers. The 5-11, 200-pound Henry has already attended two camps, and is slated to attend Notre Dame's camp on Tuesday. We spoke with Henry before he left for Irish camp to get his thoughts on recruiting so far.

Mario Henry had an impressive junior season. "I had 140 carries, for 1,004 yards. I also had 13 receptions for 297 yards. I scored 20 touchdowns total," Henry said.

Henry has been hitting the camp circuit recently looking for his first official offer. "I don't have any offers yet," said Henry. "Indiana said they'd offer me, but I wasn't really interested in them. I went to Pitt one-day camp, and I went to West Virginia one-day camp so far. I'm planning on going to Notre Dame on Tuesday for their one-day camp."

Plenty of schools remain interested in Henry. "Indiana, Pittsburgh, Penn State, Notre Dame, Iowa and Marshall are recruiting me pretty hard. I get a lot of letters from Notre Dame. I like Notre Dame quite a bit. We'll see what happens after camp."

Henry says he plans to make an early decision. "I want to make a commitment before my senior season," said Henry. "That is what I plan to do."

Henry also has a self-reported 2.8 in his core and scored a 17 on the ACT in his first try.

Comments: I've seen film of Henry and I'm really surprised he doesn't have any offers. He's a shifty back, with good vision, and he has pretty good speed as well. He hits the hole with authority. We expect Henry to land some offers soon. We'll follow up with him after camp to get his thoughts.
