Everette Brown is up to 14 offers already. "Duke, Tennessee, North Carolina, Penn State, ECU, K-State, Florida State, Miami, Auburn, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Clemson and North Carolina State are the schools that have offered me," said Brown.
The Irish were showing early interest, but that appears to have faded according to Brown. "They were sending me a lot of letters early," said Brown. But, I haven't heard much from them. Coach Diedrick talked to my coach and said he'd be down, but he never made it down in May. I haven't heard much from them since. Maybe a couple of letters, but that is about it."
Brown said he'd be interested if the Irish started showing more interest. "Yeah, I like Notre Dame," he said. It's a good school with good tradition. I'd be interested. I'm pretty open right now."
We asked Brown if he had a list of early leaders at this point. "These would only be from the schools that have offered me," said Brown. "I'm still interested in other schools. North Carolina State, North Carolina, Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech, Penn State, and Wake Forest would be the top schools. But, that is only from the list that has offered."
Comments: We're not sure what the problem might be. Brown said he has a 3.2 g.p.a. He hasn't received his test score back from the ACT. We can only assume it might be a core classes or core grades issue as to why the Irish have slowed in their recruitment of Brown. We'll keep an eye on Brown and see if the Irish pick up the pace with him.
