Grimes Receives Offer After Notre Dame Camp

Detroit, Mich. wide receiver David Grimes has returned from Notre Dame camp with an official offer from Notre Dame. We spoke with Grimes to get his thoughts on camp. When might Grimes make a decision? Does he have a favorite? What are his thoughts on Notre Dame? Irish Eyes found out.

Wide receiver David Grimes has returned from Notre Dame's camp a happy man. "Camp went great," said Grimes. "I think I did pretty good. I was offered a scholarship."

Grimes said he was thrilled to receive the offer. "It makes me feel great," said Grimes of the Irish offer. It's nice to know that I have a promising future in both football and academically."

Grimes didn't make the visit with his family, but attended with his coach instead. "He was very excited for me. He thinks it's the perfect place for me to go."

What was his mother's reaction when informed he received an Irish offer. "She was very excited," said Grimes. "That is where she wants me to go, too."

Grimes said he's not likely to make an early decision. "I'm going to talk to Notre Dame and find out how long they'll give me before I need to decide," said Grimes. They said they'd give me time. I'd like to take my official visits if I can."

Does Grimes have a leader at this point? "Yeah, it would be Notre Dame," he said. "They are my leader."

Grimes also holds official offers from Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana and North Carolina.
