Trump Returns From Irish Camp

Clearwater, Fla. offensive line prospect A.J. Trump has returned from his recent visit to Notre Dame. The 6-4, 290-pound Trump says he's still not ready to make a decision. Where do the Irish stand with Trump? What did he think of Notre Dame?

A.J. Trump said he really enjoyed his camp experience at Notre Dame. "It went real well," said Trump. "I had a real good time. I enjoyed spending time with the coaches. They are all really good guys. I enjoyed it a lot."

The Irish offered Trump about a month ago, and it appears Trump is down to two schools at this point. "They didn't ask me to commit," said Trump of the Irish coaches. "They just told me to take a real hard look at them. It's down to them and Florida State. I'm just going to wait it out a little bit and talk to my family."

Trump said the experience certainly helped the Irish. "It's going to be hard to turn them down," said Trump. "I would say the distance is the only thing that I could see bothering me. But, look, I left at 1 PM today and arrived home at 7 PM so it's not that far."

One thing Trump really enjoyed is the people at Notre Dame. "I loved the people there at Notre Dame," said Trump. "It just felt comfortable. I hung out with Ryan Harris. He's a great guy and I got to watch him work out. Every single offensive linemen came over and introduced themselves to me. That really impressed me. Everyone I met at Notre Dame I really liked."

Trump said he might take an unofficial to Florida State before deciding. "I might head down to Florida State one more time," said Trump. "I haven't been down there for a while, and it's only about four hours away."

A move to offensive guard might be in the cards for Trump. "I think I might end up moving to guard in college," said Trump. "Schools have been mentioning that. I hope to play on the left side since I'm left-handed. We'll see what happens with that."

A decision could come at any time according to Trump. "I don't want to rush it, but I'd kind of like to get it over with so I can focus on my season," he said. "I'm also kind of conflicted because some players before me waited so I could get some looks from some collges. If I commit early, some of my teammates might not get as many looks from colleges. I don't know what I plan to do."

Comments: One can tell that Trump is in the decision process right now. He didn't give a clear leader, but we feel the Irish might've jumped out in front. Still, it sounds like Florida State will get their shot as well if he makes an unofficial visit. We think Trump is close to deciding. It will be interesting to see if he chooses to visit Florida State. We will certainly keep an eye on Trump. Top Stories
