Hunter a Hot Prospect

Corner prospect Corderra Hunter is a hot prospect. The 6-1, 180-pound Hunter has a host of offers and plenty of other suitors. We spoke with Hunter to get his thoughts on the recruiting process and where the Irish stand with the Longview, Texas prospect.

Corderra Hunter has a host of offers already. "I have a bunch of offers," said Hunter. "I really don't know how many I have." Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Arizona, Arkansas and Houston are just a few Hunter previously confirmed he had offers from.

Hunter says the Irish have also offered him, at least verbally. "They did offer me," said Hunter. "They told me they were offering me. I don't have it in writing yet."

The Longview native says he's interested in Notre Dame. "I do have some interest," said Hunter. "I don't really know much about them--only what I hear from others who have been there. I need to find out more about the school."

As of now, two schools stand out to Hunter. "Texas Tech and Stephen F. Austin are my favorites," said Hunter. "I just like them and what they have to say. Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Notre Dame, LSU and Kansas State are some of the other schools I'm looking at."

Hunter says he'll make a decision sometime after his senior season. "I'll probably take some visits after my season," said Hunter. I want to check out some schools. I plan to major in pre-med and track will also play a role in my decision." Hunter runs the 200 meters and claims a personal best of 21.2 in the 200.

We also asked Hunter about his academic situation. "I don't know what my core is," he said. "I've taken the test, but I haven't got my scores back yet."

Comments: Hunter says he hasn't received the official offer yet in the mail, but the Irish appear to be actively recruiting him. We'll keep an eye on him and see if the Irish offer him in the future.
