Michael Thomas says he was impressed with a recent visit to Georgia Tech. "I went down to Atlanta, so we thought we'd stop by Georgia Tech," said Thomas. "I liked it there. I liked what they had to say. I felt I could fit in as a receiver there."
Thomas was also scheduled to visit Notre Dame this summer, but those plans were scraped. "We were on our way up there," said Thomas. "But, I called coach Mattison and he said everything wasn't settled yet. We didn't have everything finished as far as my academics go. He said I needed to take a few more classes, and he wanted me to take my test again. That kind of threw me for a loop."
We asked Thomas if he remain interested in Notre Dame at this point. "Yeah, I'm interested, but I'm not jumping through any hoops to go there," Thomas said. "We'll have to see what happens there."
Thomas says he has one move unofficial visit he'll take this summer. "I'm going to go check out Arizona soon," said Thomas. "That will be it for my visits this summer. I like what they have to say, too."
An early decision could be in the makes for Thomas. "I'd say there is a pretty good chance I'll decide this summer," he said. "I'm not sure so we'll have to see. I might want to take some official visits."
Comments: Thomas didn't seem happy about not being cleared by admissions. We're not sure if Notre Dame is out of it, but that didn't help. We'll check back in a while and see if things have changed for Thomas.
