Harris Open?

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame Cornerback Cary Harris is a hot name around the country. The 6'0 180 Harris projects as a cornerback at the next level, but he's been doing damage running the ball as well. With over a dozen offers on the table, Harris seems to still be open. Is Notre Dame in the equation?

With offers from Washington, Washington State, Arizona, Arizona State, Nebraska, UCLA, USC, Cal, Michigan, Michigan State, Duke, Notre Dame, Alabama, Kansas, and Colorado, Cary Harris stock in the recruiting world has skyrocketed. However, it hasn't stopped Harris from being humble and still taking things in stride. "I'm just taking my time right now" said Harris when asked how recruiting was coming for him. "I'm just focusing on my season. We start back on Thursday the 19th. We look pretty good this year so I'm really looking forward to this season" he continued

Just because Harris is focused on the season, doesn't mean that recruiting isn't on his mind as well. "Recruiting is pretty good so far. I'm just really checking things out right now. There are a lot of schools recruiting me so I'm checking things out right now" said Harris.

Many have speculated that Harris is leaning toward USC right now since he is a California resident, and his father played for the Trojans. Is that true? "I don't know if I have any leaders right now, but I do like USC a lot. They are up there for sure. But everyone is pretty close. I'm just going to take some visits and see where I feel the most comfortable. I don't have a time table or anything like that. I'll know after I make my visits."

Does Notre Dame have a good chance at getting an official visit? "Notre Dame has a shot at getting a visit. They were recruiting me pretty hard so they have a good shot. But I really don't know who I'll be visiting just yet."

Harris has a 3.1 GPA and will be taking the SATs in either September or October. Be sure to check out Harris' video on his Insiders player profile.

Comments: Harris seems to be open to a lot of schools, but we feel USC is in the drivers seat right now. He has received offers from schools around the nation, but it wouldn't surprise us if he stayed on the west coast to attend college. More will be known once he sets up his visits.
