Felder Setting Visits

Seattle, Wash. linebacker prospect Anthony Felder is a top prospect. The 6-3, 225-pound Felder says he's starting to set up his official visits to his top schools. Where will he be visiting? Will he visit Notre Dame? We spoke with Felder on Sunday to find out the answers to these questions and more.

Anthony Felder's O'Dea high school team is off to a good start so far this season.

"Right now we're 6-1," Felder said of his team. "We dropped an early game, but we've been playing well. I don't have my stats. Our coaches don't give us that until after the season."

Felder told us during the conversation that he was setting up a visit to Notre Dame for this weekend. However, his dad, Kirby Felder, got in touch with us shortly afterwards to give us an update.

"We had a tentative visit set for Notre Dame this weekend," said Kirby Felder. "We just talked to coach McDonell and he said this weekend wasn't going to work. He wants us to call on Monday and reschedule.

"He said he wants us to come when they can spend more time with Tony. We'll call tomorrow and get it set up. I do know we're trying to take two visits during the season if we can."

Besides Notre Dame, Felder says he's also dediced on visiting a few other of his top schools.

"I believe my dad is setting up a visit with Ohio State," Anthony Felder said. "I'm not sure if that has been finalized yet.

"I think I'll also visit LSU and Washington. I'm not sure on my fifth visit yet."

We asked Felder if he planned to take all five visits at this point.

"There's always the possibility that I might commit if I find the right place, but it doesn't seem like that is likely right now," Felder said. "I plan to take all five visits."

We asked Felder if distance would be a problem for him when making his final decision.

"No, I don't think so," he said. "It's always nice to be close to home, but I think it would be a good learning experience to be away from home. It wouldn't bother me to be away from home."

Comments: Kirby Freeman told me he'd e-mail me when he got Tony's visit lined up with Notre Dame. The Irish appear to be in good shape with Tony at this point. We don't think he has a clear leader at this point.
