Wilson Impressed With Pitt Visit

Akron, Ohio defensive end Lawrence Wilson had his list narrowed down to two teams. That was until he visited Pittsburgh. The talented defensive end now says his decision is a three-team race. Where do the Irish stand in the mix for Wilson? When might he decide?

Lawrence Wilson said he enjoyed his visit to Pittsburgh last weekend.

"It was pretty nice," said Wilson. "The whole setup was nice. It was the best trip I've been on so far. I really enjoyed it."

The Panthers made quite an impression.

"I wouldn't say they lead right now," said Wilson of Pitt. "They're definitely in the race. I liked it there."

Was asked Wilson what his plans were at this point.

"I don't plan on taking any more official visits at this point. I think I'm down to those three," he said. "I might go to a couple of games though. I don't have anything planned for that though."

As for his decision, Wilson says it will come.

"I'm just going to wait it out until I'm positive about my decision," Wilson said. "I just want to be positive before I announce it."

We asked Wilson if the Irish have slipped in his mind lately.

"No, I would say they've slipped at all," he said. "It's just that Pitt good made a good impression."

We also asked if Ohio State had slipped in his mind.

"No, that hasn't changed. I still like them," he said.

We asked Wilson what would tip the scale in favor of the team he ultimately chooses.

"I think it will come down to where I fit in the best and where I'll play the most," he said.

Comments: It sounds like Wilson has some thinking to do. We expect Wilson to take some unofficial visits in the next few weeks. We wouldn't be surprised to see him on the sidelines when the Irish play Pitt in a few weeks.
