Defensive end Terrance Jamison is having an impressive senior season so far for his Thornton Township high school team.
"We're 7-2 right now and we start the playoffs this weekend," said Jamison. "I think I have 15 sacks, 62 tackles, 23 quarterback hurries and 10 knocked down passes so far."
Recruiting is taking a back seat to the playoffs at this point.
"I haven't set any official visits yet," said Jamison. "I'll set them up after the playoffs."
The Harvey, Ill. native has also picked up some offers this year.
"Wisconsin, Northwestern, Indiana, Northern Illinois, Michigan State and Bowling Green have offered me so far," said Jamison.
Notre Dame is another school Jamison likes at this point.
"I'm very interested in them and they're interested in me," said Jamison of the Irish. "They said they wanted to see some of my senior film before offering me.
"Coach Mattison said he sent my transcripts through and I'm OK as far as being accepted there.
"I went to their game against Boston College last weekend. I really loved the atmosphere of the game. We talked to coach Gonzanles and coach Mattison while we were there. I also visited there this past spring for a basketball game and met some of the players."
We asked Jamison if he had some top schools at this point that he was considering for official visits.
"Yeah, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Michigan State, Michigan, Northern Illinois, Indiana and Purdue are the teams I'm considering," he said.
We also asked Jamison what he's looking for in a school.
"I think the environment will be important," said Jamison. "Academics will also be important. I want to major in architecture. I'll also look at team chemistry and how I fit in with the players."
Comments: Jamison is a guy to keep an eye on. He's having an impressive senior season and we believe he'll pick up even more offers very soon. The Irish appear to be in the race for this rising star. An offer from Notre Dame would likely at least result in a visit.
