Hord Sets First Visit

Kansas City, Mo. wide receiver D.J. Hord has helped his Rockhurst high school team to a solid season. The 6-1, 190-pound Hord has also set his first official visit. Where will Hord be visiting? Which other schools are under consideration? When might Hord be deciding?

Wide receiver D.J. Hord has his Rockhurst high school team in the state playoff hunt.

"Our team is 6-1 right now," Hord said. "We're playing pretty well. I have 27 catches for 380 yards and three touchdowns."

Hord has also started to focus on recruiting a little more.

"I've scheduled a visit to Notre Dame for December 3rd," said Hord. "I haven't scheduled any others yet. I'm working on that."

We asked Hord if he knew of any schools he'd be visiting for sure.

"I'd say LSU and Missouri, probably," said Hord. "After those two, I'm pretty open. I probably won't fill those slots until after my season."

Hord also said he might just take a few visits.

"I might just go with those three. I don't know yet. I plan to take some official visits in November if I can."

We asked Hord if he was hoping to get his decision out of the way at this point.

"Yeah, that's what I'd like to do," he said. "Get it done as soon as possible."

"I'm still open. I really don't have a favorite right now," said Hord when asked if he had a leader.

Hord had mentioned previously that he planned to take more unofficial visits to some college football games. We asked Hord if he still planned to go to some more college football games.

"I'm going to K-State this weekend. I'm thinking about going to (Oklahoma) in a couple of weeks," Hord said.

Comments: The Irish appear in good shape with Hord. One can tell he'd like to end his recruitment pretty soon. We wouldn't be surprised if he took just a few visits before deciding. We'll check back in a few weeks to see if Hord schedules more visits.
