Henderson Turns Focus To Recruiting

Oak Creek, Wisc. defensive end Raymond Henderson has seen his senior season come to an end. The 6-5, 255-pound Henderson now says his focus will now turn to recruiting. When will Henderson set his visits? Will he visit Notre Dame? What did he have to say about the Irish?

Raymond Henderon's Oak Creek high school team has ended their senior season.

"We're out of the playoffs now," said Henderson. "I don't know my stats, yet. We should have those in a few weeks."

Recruiting will now be the focus for the heavily recruited defensive end prospect.

"I've already visited LSU," said Henderson. "It was pretty nice there. The facilities were nice. I thought I fit in there pretty good. It was a pretty fun time. Everyone there seemed pretty laid back."

Besides the Tigers, Henderson says he has no idea where he might be visiting in the future.

"I really haven't given it much thought," said Henderson. "I really haven't been talking to the coaches. I wanted to focus on my season, and then worry about recruiting after my season. Now that my season is over, I'll start to look at it and decide where I'll be visiting."

A number of schools remain on Henderson's list at this point.

Miami, Tennessee, LSU, Notre Dame, Iowa, Oklahoma and Ohio State are probably the schools I'm still considering," said Henderson.

Previously Henderson had told Irish Eyes that he thought he would be taking an official visit to Notre Dame.

"I'm not sure on that," said Henderson when asked if he still planned to visit Notre Dame. "I've been there for their spring game and another game this year. I've seen what I needed to see at Notre Dame. I'm not sure if I'll visit there. That's still up in the air."

We asked Henderson when he thought he might make his final decision.

"I'll probably have it done in January," he said.

Comments: We've felt the Irish have been slipping with Henderson for awhile. We don't believe the Irish will have much of a shot if they can't get him to take an official visit. Henderson says he'll likely be setting up his official visits in the next few weeks. We'll check back soon to find out if the Irish will get a visit.
