Frierson to be at Pitt Game

Columbia, S.C. wide receiver Martin Frierson has helped his Irmo high school team to the playoffs after a rough start. The Notre Dame commitment also plans to take an unofficial visit to Notre Dame this weekend to catch the Pitt game. We spoke to Frierson to get an update on his senior season.

Wide receiver Martin Frierson is having a solid senior season.

"We are in the first round of the playoffs," said Frierson. "I had seven catches for 153 yards and a touchdown last week. We are starting to throw the football more. I have 25 catches for 450 yards and five touchdowns this year."

The talented wide receiver says he plans to take an unofficial visit to Notre Dame this weekend.

"I'm going there this weekend," said Frierson. "I'm really looking forward to it. I can't wait to get there. It should be a lot of fun."

Frierson also has schedule his official visit for Notre Dame, but that might not be the only visit he ends up taking.

"I'm scheduled for December 3rd for my visit," he said. "I'm still planning on taking some official visits. I'm pretty much going to Notre Dame though. It's a once in a lifetime chance."

We asked Frierson if he has set up any of his official visits at this point.

"No, I haven't scheduled any," said Frierson. "I'll probably just take a few. Maybe to Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech."

Comments: Frierson continues to mention that he'll be taking official visits. I'm not sure how the Notre Dame coaching staff will feel about that plan. I'm sure we'll know more after he takes his unofficial visit this weekend. I'll check back with Frierson after this weekend.
