Defensive tackle Luqman Abdallah had an impressive final season for the Hun school in Princeton, N.J.
"This is my post-graduate year," said Abdallah. "But I'm only 17. I had a good senior season, but I came here and had a good post-graduate year and now some schools are looking at me."
Abdallah's final season has impressed a number of schools.
"I had 72 solo tackles, 9-10 sacks, 17 tackles for loss. I also played offense and had about 30 pancake blocks," said Abdallah.
Abdallah already has two offers from schools and a host of others interested.
"Michigan State and Rutgers have offered me," said Abdallah. "Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Miami and Florida State are some of the schools looking at me."
The Irish have taken a strong interest in Abdallah.
"Coach Simmons is recruiting me from Notre Dame," he said. "I think they initally came here to take a look at Myron (Rolle), but I gave them my tape and they liked it and started recruiting me.
"I like Notre Dame a lot. I think their academics are awesome and it's a great place to be. Their football atmosphere is incredible."
The talented defensive tackle prospect has also scheduled a few official visits.
"I have a visit scheduled for Notre Dame on December 3rd and a visit to Michigan State on December 10th," said Abdallah. "I plan on taking all five of my visits. I'll probably visit Rutgers, Virginia Tech and Miami or Florida State if they offer me."
We asked Abdallah where the Irish would sit on his list if they offered him.
"Definitely at the top," he said. "I like Notre Dame and they'd definitely be at the top."
Comments: The Irish appear to have a strong interest in Abdallah and he also has a strong interest in Notre Dame. I've heard good things about him in my research, and I don't think Notre Dame would have him visit so early if they didn't like him a lot. We'll check back with Luke soon to see if he sets any other visits.
