Offensive tackle prospect Paul Duncan recently returned from his fourth official visit to Duke.
"It was nice," said Duncan of his visit. "I got to meet a couple of the players. I liked it there quite a bit. I'm just not sure it's enough though. Duke did move up a lot, but I'm not sure it's enough."
Notre Dame has been leading for Duncan's signature for awhile, but the last time we spoke to Duncan he indicated their lead has been dwindling. We asked Duncan if he's had time to think about who might lead for his services at this point.
"I'd say earlier I was mainly looking at Notre Dame," Duncan said. "These visits made it harder for me to make my decision, but I'd say Notre Dame is definitely still my leader. The other three (Oklahoma, LSU and Duke) are right there, but Notre Dame is my leader right now."
Duncan also said he knows what to expect from an official visit and looks forward to seeing Notre Dame once again.
"I've been there before and I know what to expect," he said. "What I really want to do is meet the players and see how I fit in there--just kind of get to know everybody. That and kind of check everything out."
The last time Duncan visited South Bend he brought most of his family. We asked Duncan if anyone was coming with him on this visit, and if his family had any schools they liked at this point.
"Just my mom and dad are coming. They've gone with me on every trip," he said. "They really haven't said anything about who they like. They kind of want me to make my own decision and don't want to influence me on my decision."
With the Irish clearly in front, and four of his officials under his belt, we asked Duncan if he might decide while on his visit to Notre Dame if his visit went well.
"I might commit," he said. "I don't know. I'll probably go back and think it over. I reall don't know."
Comments: Notre Dame appears to be in good shape with Duncan. They appear to have a solid lead heading into his final visit. He'd probably be the most likely candidate for a commitment after the weekend since he's done taking his official visits. We'll certainly check back with him after his visit.
