Scout.com four-star tight end prospect James Dray had an in-home visit with Irish head coach Charlie Weis last evening.
"It went great," Dray said of his Weis in-home visit. "I was a little nervous at first. The guy has won two Super Bowls. He's an offensive genious. You just want to sit and listen to the guy and learn."
Dray said there was some time for some fun as well.
"We were talking about the Patriots and the Jets. My whole family are Jets fans," Dray said. "We had some fun with that."
Weis quickly turned the conversation to all business, however.
"He talked about everything he wanted to do with the offense," Dray said of his conversation with Weis. "He talked about how he likes to use two tight ends and how he likes to attack a defense. You don't doubt what he says because you know he knows what he's talking about, and how to win at the highest level."
We asked Dray what postion Weis is recruiting him to play.
"He was talking about tight end," Dray said. "He's had a lot of success with the tight ends."
Dray also said he expects to hear from Notre Dame's tight end coach Bernie Parmalee soon.
"Coach Weis said he'd be getting in touch with me in the next couple of weeks for an in-home visit," Dray said.
Dray has a visit set this weekend and another schedule for Notre Dame, but still has two that remain undecided.
"I'm going to Stanford this weekend," Dray said. "I'm going to Notre Dame on January 28th. I have two visits left. I'm considering Florida State, Iowa and Tennessee for those last visits. I don't know when I'll set my last two visits. I have Iowa coming tomorrow."
Comments: Dray had all but eliminated the Irish just last month. Regaining Dray's interest has been quite a save for Weis. Dray seems pretty interested in Weis and the new Irish offense at this point. We've linked Dray's highlight video below in case you've missed it.
