Top defensive end target Doug Worthington says he still thinks Ohio State is the place he wants to be.
"I still love Ohio State," Worthington said. "I like everything about it. I'm just scared of the situation going on over there right now."
That fear has driven Worthington to set up some official visits.
"I'm going to Alabama this weekend, and I have a visit scheduled for Florida next weekend," Worthington said. "I have one more visit and that will go to either Notre Dame or Boston College."
Irish assistant Brian Polian recently visited Worthington at his high school, the same alma mater as Polian, to try to get the St. Francis high school star to take a visit to Notre Dame.
"Coach Polian is from my high school," Worthington said. "I talked to him when he was at UCF and he told me he'd love to have me, but he knew I'd be going to a bigger program. I really liked him then.
"He's a really good recruiter, and he said he wants to get a graduate from St. Francis on the Notre Dame roster. I know he's really excited to be at Notre Dame. I need to talk to my dad about where I'll take my last visit."
Worthington said he and his dad know what Notre Dame is about.
"I need to talk to my father about Notre Dame. He knows about the tradition, and the education is top notch. They just came in kind of late," Worthington said. "They've just started recruiting me the last few weeks while the others have been recruiting me all along. I don't know where I'll visit for sure."
We asked Worthington when he'll decide on his final visit.
"I'd say probably around the beginning of next week," he said.
Comments: We get the feeling that Worthington is still pretty sold on Ohio State, but if he takes visits, anyone has a shot to land him. We'll check back early next week to see if Worthington decides to visit Notre Dame. We've added his video link below for those that haven't seen it.
