Duncan Makes it Official

Dallas, Ga. offensive tackle Paul Duncan confirmed to Irish Eyes just now that he in fact did commit to the Irish over the weekend. We spoke with the 6-6. 285-pound offensive tackle just minutes ago to find out about his commitment and his official visit to Notre Dame.

"The visit went great," said Paul Duncan of his official visit to Notre Dame this weekend. "I had a great time. I really enjoyed it there."

Rumors have circulated that Duncan committed to Charlie Weis over the weekend. We asked the Scout.com four-star prospect if he did commit to Notre Dame.

"Yes, I did commit," Duncan said. "It was the combination of the academics and coach Weis and coach Latina. I really liked them and I really think football is going to take off there."

Duncan said he really likes coach Latina and his coaching style.

"I like coach Latina a lot," he said. "I get along with him real well. We've talked about what type of coach he is. I think I'll like playing for him."

Duncan said he family is also excited about his decision.

"I think they were all happy for me," he said. "My mom came home and called everyone she knew. It felt good knowing I'd be going to Notre Dame."
