Two Offers Already For Top New Jersey Linebacker

The Notre Dame coaching staff will certainly hit New Jersey hard next year in recruiting, and one of the top targets in New Jersey is linebacker Alex Wujciak. The 6-3, 228-pound Wujiciak is receiving a lot of attention from the top programs, and he already has two offers on the table. Are the Irish in the hunt of Wujciak?

Seton Hall Prep high school in West Orange, N.J. is home to linebacker Alex Wujciak. The talented linebacker had an oustanding junior season sparking a lot of interest from top programs across the country.

"I had 140 tackles last season," said Wujciak. "On offense I had 20 catches for 450 yards and three touchdowns. I played tight end on offense."

His impressive junior season has made a number of top programs take notice.

"I have offers from Rutgers and Maryland right now," Wujciak said. "Notre Dame, Boston College, Virginia, West Virginia, Stanford, Northwestern and Miami are some of the schools who are recruiting me."

The top prospect says he's not sure of his future plans in regards to recruiting.

"I don't know if I'll go to any camps or not," he said. "I went to Rutgers for their junior day. I'll probably try to get to a few more junior days if I can. I might go see some schools this summer, but I'm not sure where yet. My dad and I will go see some."

Did Wujciak have a favorite team growing up?

"I'd say probably Notre Dame because my dad went there," Wujciak said.

We asked Wujciak what he liked about Notre Dame.

"I like their tradition and how they've been a winning program so long," he said. "They've been keeping in touch with me. They sent me some stuff on their new coaching staff."

We also asked Wujciak if he had some early favorites as of now.

"I'd say that pretty much the schools who've been keeping in touch with me would be my favorites," he said. "I don't really have any top school yet. I haven't thought about it much yet."

Wujciak did say he had an idea in what he'd be looking for in a school.

"Academics will be important," Wujciak said. "Playing time will also be important. I want to play early if I can. Also, a nice campus."

Comments: Wujciak said he carries a 3.4 g.p.a so he should have no problem qualifying. The Irish should have a solid shot with him, and we hear he's likely the top linebacker in the state if not the top prospect in the state of New Jersey. He did say he'd likely take his visits before deciding. Top Stories
