The Irish will be looking for at least one quarterback in this class, and Sunday's junior day gave Irish fans their first idea of which players will be targeted at this key position.
"It went really well," said Zach Frazer of his visit to South Bend for Notre Dame's junior day. "I was offered by them.
"I wasn't expecting that at all. It really caught me by surprise. I knew they were interested in me, but I didn't think I'd get offered today. I thought I'd come visit and maybe they'd offer me a little bit later. It was a very good surprise."
Frazer said he spent the whole day with Irish coaches.
"I met every coach on the staff," he said. "I met coach Weis, coach Cutcliffe, Ron Powlus, coach Latina--my recruiting coach. I liked them all a lot.
"I think they have an excellent staff there. Coach Weis has won four Super Bowls. Coach Cutcliffe coached the Mannings, I really enjoyed everything about the coaching staff. I was very impressed by them all."
Frazer was also impressed with what he saw in the new facilities.
"They gave us a virtual tour of the facilites," he said. "They look phenonmenal. You can tell it's going to be the heart of the football team. It's going to be great when they get that open."
We asked Frazer what his thoughts are on the Irish, and when he might make a decision.
"This visit definitely topped anything I've ever been to," he said. "Notre Dame is pretty high up there right now. I'm still going to wait. I don't want to jump into anything. I want to take my time and see what happens, but I really liked my visit today."
Comments: Frazer said he attended the junior day with his father who was also impressed with what he saw at Notre Dame. He's obviously very high on Notre Dame's wish list, but Irish fans will have to wait a bit before he decides. He mentioned to us earlier that he might attend a few more junior days, and he might attend a few more camps before deciding.
