Downington, Pa. quarterback Pat Devlin has picked up a number of offers recently.
"I've got quite a few offers," Devlin said. "Syracuse, North Carolina, Virginia, Rutgers, Pittsburgh and Maryland are the schools that have offered me so far.
"I've been talking to Miami recently. I talk to Virginia a lot. Penn State; Maryland, those are the schools I talk to the most."
Devlin has already visited three of the schools that have offered him.
"I've been to Virginia, Maryland, and Pittsburgh for junior days so far," he said.
We asked Devlin if any of the schools stood out on his unofficial visits.
"None of them really stood out to me," Devlin said. "I'm trying to keep and open mind."
Next on the plate for Devlin is a trip to South Bend.
"I'm going to Notre Dame on April (2)," Devlin said. "They've been sending me a lot of stuff trying to get me out there.
"I haven't spoken to them a lot, but they came to my school earlier, and I just spoke to coach Latina the other day.
"I like Notre Dame. Charlie Weis has done so much for the Patriots so you have to be excited about him coming to Notre Dame. I went there for a camp in 8th grade. I really like their campus there."
A decision will likely come before his senior season according to the Downington, Pa. native.
"I'll probably make my decision before my school year," Devlin said. "I don't want to make it too quick. I want to make the right decision so I'm going to take my time with it."
We asked Devlin if any schools were starting to stand out.
"None are really standing out right now," Devlin said. "I'm open to anyone right now.
"Notre Dame is one of my top schools though. They haven't offered me so I thought I better go out there.
"If they don't offer me, I don't know what more I can do. I guess I can send my tape, but they get a million tapes. We'll see what happens."
Comments: Devlin said he has a new quarterback coach this season, who is former Virginia quarterback Dan Ellis. He also said he grew up a Penn State fan. It sounds like Devlin is hoping to receive an offer from the Irish on his visit. We'll check back with Pat after his visit to see where the Irish stand with him.
