Frazer Set For Another Irish Visit

Mchanicsburg, Pa. quarterback Zach Frazer has had a busy spring. The 6-5, 210-pound quarterback has already visited a number of schools including Notre Dame. We spoke with Frazer again on Monday to find out the latest with his recruitment. Good news Irish fans: Frazer is visiting South Bend again very soon.

Quarterback Zach Frazer was one of the very first offers given by new head coach Charlie Weis for the 2005 class. Frazer was impressed by that gesture, and now he plans to visit South Bend again.

"I'm coming next week for a couple of days," Frazer said. "I'll be visiting Tuesday, Wednesday and part of Thursday and then I fly out later on Thursday."

We asked Frazer why he wouldn't just come from the next junior day which is April 23 and also the Notre Dame spring game.

"I have prom that weekend and I already was going to that," Frazer said. "This will probably work out better anyway. I'll get to spend more time with the coaches and get to see the school.

"Last time I was there I didn't really get to see much of the school. I want to walk around campus a little more, and I'd like to meet some of the academic people, some of the players, and get to know the coaches a little better."

The Mechanicsburg, Pa. native says he's already developing a good relationship with the Notre Dame staff.

"I've talked to coach Weis a lot," he said. "They've shown a real commitment to me. He's a great guy, and I've gotten to know him over the phone and in person. He's more than a coach.

"I've also gotten to know coach Latina as well. He's the guy who recruits this area. They've shown a real strong interest in me, and I've very interested in Notre Dame."

What's next for Frazer after his Irish visit?

"I have the Nike camp on April 28 or 29, I can't remember. I also have the Elite 11 camp tryout on May 4," Frazer said. "I've been working really hard all winter to prepare for both of those. I'd really like to make the Elite 11 if I could.

"After that, I think I'm just going to relax for a bit--just kind of take it all in. I'll have my decision by the middle of the summer, at least by the start of next season."

Comments: Obviously Frazer taking a second visit is a great sign for Notre Dame. I also think the length of his visit is also telling. He said he plans to visit Notre Dame with his high school coach as well. We'll certainly check back with Frazer once he returns from his visit. Top Stories
