Harvin Adds Another Offer

The most impressive player I saw in San Antonio during the All-American combine was wide receiver Percy Harvin. The 5-11, 185-pound Harvin has plenty of speed and the offers to prove it. We spoke with Harvin on Sunday to get an update on his recruitment. Are the Irish involved with Harvin?

Much has already been written about top wide receiver prospect Percy Harvin. The Virginia Beach, Va. prospect already has a ton of offers in fold.

"I have 24 offers right now," said Harvin. "They're from schools all over.

"I just received an offer from Notre Dame on Thursday."

We asked Harvin if he's spoken with any Irish coaches at this point.

"I talked with their head coach," Harvin said. "I liked him. He was selling it really hard. I liked what he had to say.

"I knew it he was a good coach that came from the NFL. I'm interested in Notre Dame. They're all about the same right now."

Harvin says he'll likely try to take some unofficial visits soon.

"We're going to take a few unofficial visits," Harvin said of his future plans. "A lot of these schools wanted me to come to their spring games.

"UVA (Virginia) wants me to come. USC and Florida also want me to come. We'll probably go to Michigan to visit there. I have a sister that goes to Eastern Michigan so I'll probably stop by Michigan when I go see her. I'm not sure which schools I'll go see yet."

Will Harvin make an early decision?

"I'm going to wait until the very end," Harvin said. "I'll be able to make the best decision then.

"My coach said we'll sit down and narrow it down by the end of the summer. Right now I'm interested in all the colleges. I don't have any favorites right now."

Comments: The Irish have offered Harvin and he seems to have some interest. We don't think they'll have much of a chance unless they can get him to visit. We'll keep an eye on Harvin to see if he might make a spring or summer visit to South Bend.
