James Aldridge Commits to Notre Dame

Merrillville, Ind. running back James Aldridge committed to head coach Charlie Weis today. We just spoke with Aldridge to get his reaction to his commitment.

"I did commit to Notre Dame today," James Aldridge said. "I just told Oklahoma State and Virginia that I was going to go to Notre Dame so go ahead and run with it."

We asked Aldridge why he chose Notre Dame.

"I just got a real good feeling when I was there," Aldridge said. "I felt confident about what I could at Notre Dame and it's just the right place for me."

We asked Aldridge what Charlie Weis said when he committed to him today.

"He was really happy. He said I just got the ball rolling for him," Aldridge said.

Aldridge becomes the sixth-known verbal commitment for the Irish in this early ND 2006 recruiting season.
