"I'll switch to both wide and cornerback next year," said LaRon Moore about his position for his senior season. "In college I'll be a wide receiver or cornerback so I'm going to play both of those positions this year so coaches can see how I play."
Does Moore have interest in playing for Notre Dame and are they recruiting him?
"Yes I do," said Moore. "I like their academics and they have a great football program.
"They've been sending me some mail from time to time," he said "Hopefully after the May evaluation period is over they'll offer.
"They just offered my friend George West. He was pretty excited.
"Recruiting is a long process though, and it's really early. I mean its just May and all the camps and evaluations are just starting.
Has Moore had a chance to speak with the Irish coaching staff?
"They have called my coach and talked to him," he said, "But I haven't spoken to them – I hope to soon.
"I think their defensive coordinator, Rick Minter, is going to be recruiting me," he added.
What other schools are recruiting this top prospect?
"Stanford, Oklahoma State and Nebraska have offered," said Moore. "I also like LSU, Texas Tech, TCU, Louisville, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Texas, Iowa – a bunch of other schools.
"I've already visited Oklahoma, Kansas State, Kansas, Texas and TCU. I'll be out to see Stanford this summer.
With so many schools chasing this talent athlete, does he have any favorites at this time?
"Oklahoma, LSU, Louisville, Oklahoma State and Notre Dame," Moore responded.
"Like I said, it's early in the recruiting process, and I expect more schools will offer. A lot of them want me to come to camp to see if I can back pedal because they don't have any film of me playing corner," he added.
Speaking of camps, does Moore know which camps he will attend?
"I just went down to the Nike combine at TCU," replied Moore. "I worked out with the wide receivers because they were getting more looks than the defensive backs." I was ranked the second best wide receiver.
"I ran the second fastest shuttle, 3.81. I slipped on my forty but still ran a 4.4," he added.
Moore reports a 3.85 g.p.a. and a 23 ACT.
Comment: LaRon is very thoughtful and well-spoken. He's definitely the type of kid that would thrive at Notre Dame. It sounds like he's getting a lot of attention from different schools, but as he said, most schools have only seen him play quarterback.
