Hart Has Three Offers

Jim Hart, a 6-5, 300-pound offensive tackle is just one of the many talented high school football players in the state of Arkansas this year. Irish Eyes caught up with this prospect from Pocahontas high school to see how recruiting was taking shape.

What schools are recruiting you the most at this point?

"Vanderbilt, Mississippi State (offer), Arkansas State (offer), and Duke (offer)," replied Hart.

Knowing that offensive linemen are a priority in this recruiting class for Notre Dame, has Hart been hearing from the Irish coaching staff?

"I haven't talked to the coaches, but they are still sending me letters," he replied.

"In May, schools are allowed to call you once," he continued. "I've talked to some other schools, but I haven't talked to Notre Dame.

What position are colleges recruiting Hart to play?

"I'm mainly being recruited as an offensive tackle," said Hart. "I'm going to play more defensive end this year, but most schools want me on offense."

Does Hart have plans to attend any summer camps?

"I just went to the Nike combine," said Hart. "It was informative. They had different groups for each position, so you got to learn some new techniques.

"I think the biggest thing is that it helped me with improving my speed and coming off the ball."

Hart also plans to have a busy summer.

"I'll go to a bunch of one day camps," Hart said. "Mississippi State, Arkansas, Arkansas State. I might go to the Notre Dame camp, but it depends on how things work out.

"I want to see the campus when I'm there, but I also want to get the chance to get to know the coaches."

Comments: Notre Dame hasn't contacted Hart at this time, but they are staying in touch with him. He might need to attend camp this summer to catch the attention of the Irish staff.
