Recruiting is often times a game of cat and mouse. Sometimes a school has the advantage, and sometimes the recruit has the advantage. Shamar Graves, WR, 6-3, 200-pounds, Woodbridge, N.J. has some decisions to make about schools, Notre Dame included.
The Irish have yet to offer but are still amongst his list of favorites. Graves will be deciding soon about where he stands with Notre Dame and every other school left on his list.
"I am going to sit down around Aug. 10 or 11 and try and narrow my list of schools, or just commit," Graves said of his recruitment.
Graves still has a long list of schools he is considering.
"I'm interested in Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Rutgers, Wisconsin, Nebraska…Tennessee maybe, South Carolina…Iowa."
So what about Graves interest in Notre Dame and vice versa?
"I have a lot of interest in Notre Dame," Graves answered. "They send me a ton of mail."
Where does Graves think Notre Dame stands with him?
"I have no idea to be honest with you," he said. "I don't have a cell phone so I can't really talk to them. I'm always working, working out, doing something."
Graves said that North Carolina, West Virginia and Indiana were some of the schools recruiting him the hardest at this time.
Graves hauled in 54 receptions for 757 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior.
SMITTY'S TAKE - Graves seemed to be totally up in the air about his possibility of receiving an offer from Notre Dame. Whether or not he decides not to wait for the Irish is yet to be decided, but my guess is he will narrow his list of schools to those who have offered rather soon.
Graves was unsure of all the schools he would take official visits to if he goes that route, but did mention Iowa as one school he was sure he would visit was Iowa as of right now.
