Webb Commits to Notre Dame

Springdale, Ark. offensive lineman Bartley Webb committed to Notre Dame today. Irish Eyes just spoke with Webb to find out about his commitment.

Offensive lineman Bartley Webb confirmed he committed to Notre Dame today.

"It went real well," said Webb of his unofficial visit. "I committed."

We asked Webb why he chose the Irish.

"It just felt like the right place for me," he said.

Webb also said that Irish head coach Charlie Weis was thrilled with his decision.

"He got real excited," he said. "He said 'you made my day. You made me a happy man.'"

The offensive tackle prospect said he's glad that recruiting is now over for him.

"I'm looking forward to upcoming season....not have to worry about anything< Webb added.

Webb also said that he's looking forward to blocking for running back James Aldrdige. Aldridge spent considerable time recruiting Webb himself.

"It's going to be great," said Webb when asked about playing with Aldridge. "We're going to have a lot of great times if everything goes according to plan, which it should."

Webb becomes the 10th known commitment for the Irish this early recruiting season.
